I entered the children's category where the book was 'Goodnight Mister Tom' by Michelle Magorian.
Concept & Design
The concept behind the cover was focused on the journey Willie goes through in the book. The cover used the idea of story maps which children use to plot out key events in a story, the icons represent the important moments for Willie. The brush stroke which acts as the path represents his love for art within the book. I created a typeface for the book cover based on how children form their characters when they are first learning to write.
